81 Yamaha Seca 750. Finally putting this thing back together slowly. Kind of forgot what I did when I disassembled it (5 years ago). I have the engine in. The driveshaft whole. Meaning U joints at one end and splined shaft at the other (with washer and seal). I need to get this through the swingarm. What do I need to do?! What do I need to undo?! Snap ring at driveshaft end? Help! Thank you in advance!

The u-joint slides off of the driveshaft. Some have a snap ring inside, others don't; so you nay have to give a good yank to get the u-joint to separate from the shaft.

    There are no stupid questions.

So what I meant to ask was the snap ring outside of the U joint not the "driveshaft" end. But I understand. I think. I can't find my set of snap ring pliers so I'm left with one pair which is too big. I should be able to get it done after work. Thanks!

There is no snap ring outside of the u-joint that has to be removed. If you are looking at the drawing on the parts fiche, the snap ring shown is the one that holds the oil seal onto the final-drive end of the shaft. That does not have to be removed.

Not my picture but there is a snap ring on this end also. So this spline should just pull right out correct?

Yes the splines just pull out from the u-joint. As I said, none of the snap rings need to be removed.

Finally got time to mess with it a little. Put it in the vice. Used a screwdriver and pressed it out. Simple! Thanks for your help!
