Cleaning my HSC32's, a couple, at least 2, maybe 3, of the emulsion tubes were stuck on the slide needles once i had them off the bike on the work bench for inspection. From my limited experience with other carbs, this is not supposed to be this way. I tapped them back down with a brass drift ever so slightly and they maintained their position, but not enough to unscrew the jet in the end. Just to be sure though, they ARE supposed to be pressed into the carb body, correct? Thanks in advance, and I apologize if this is a goofy question. Just would rather make sure before I goober something up.

The emulson tubes are barely a light-press fit, and typically will be loose enough that they will come out easily when the main fuel jets are removed. The jet needles usually don't stick to them, but that can happen with carbs that are particualrly dirty. As long as they are clean, and all of the holes are round you can go ahead and use them.

Your trying to push them down? They go out the top after jet removed

    No apology required.

In a forum type setting you sometimes have to ask 'the same' question multiple times but with different wording. The written/typed word can easily be misunderstood. So ask a question and keep asking until you understand the answer - or until you come to terms with the fact that some topics just aren't "your thing". ('Lectricity :D)

Thanks so much for the replies from all of you. I believe I found a huge contributing factor to the emulsion tube movement. Whoever has mucked with the carbs before didn't put, what I believe should be, a washer under the jet to keep the emulsion tube pulled into the carb housing. This explains why when I took the diaphragms and slides out, some of the emulsion tubes with jets screwed in them, just fell out.

The rest of the bike is a disaster. Slowly getting sorted out one by one. First thing I done was take the tin foil "doobies" out of the fuse holders, so what does that tell you?

Reckon so. Fixed that, got the wire nuts out of the harness and properly soldered and shrinked it, all lights and literally everything works. Just getting the fueling issues ironed out. I'm glad it doesn't have a drive chain...The sprockets would probably be round. Glad I was able to save this rig from rot and mistreatment!
