Thought I would post a link to a video I shot just after reassembly of my carbs. I replaced the butterfly shaft seals and the fuel passage o-rings.

I bought this bike in boxes and is still a work in progress. This past month is the first time this engine has run in who knows how long. Working on the fuse block at the moment, brakes, forks, paint, and ?? next! :) Hopefully not too much longer and I will be riding! :D

Nick you champ the bike is sounding excellent. Great work putting back the soul into that bike. I truly believe that the world is a slightly better place with one more bike on the road.

I got a quick stupid question. Was there anything special you had to do with your makeshift gas tank. My tank has rust on the inside and I wont get my restore kit for another week but I would at least like to see if I can get the bike running but i was afraid I would flood it if i just hooked up somethine plastic.

I use a plastic gas can with a nipple from a gear oil container. I had to cut the threads off the oil cap but I made it really quick and smooth. Works so long as you have one of the older types of gas cans with a vent (can't get those in California anymore, darn C.A.R.B.). I just tilt the sucker over and I've got two gallons of fuel. Bungee the container on the bike and your golden.

Thanks for the comments guys, I'm very pleased with the way she runs, just gotta get her on the road now!

The fuel tank is from a old weed wacker. I plugged the original fuel line hole, it was only about a 1/8" line, and too close to the cap for a gravity feed. I drilled and tapped a hole in the other end for the brass adapter and copper line that the bikes fuel line can press over. I need to leave the cap loose for venting.

xj650maxim82, your bike shouldn't flood, if it does you have a float valve problem in the carbs and that should be fixed!

Is that the stock exhaust? My holy stock exhaust doesn't quite sound like that. You have a bit more rumble in yours.

It sounds about like mine (w/ stock pipes). The Secas really have a pretty distinctive throaty rumble. My old neighbor (the P.O.) always said he could hear me coming from two blocks away. Not like my buddy's VMAX, which I could hear, or more accutrately feel, 6 blocks away, but still - distinctive.
