Anybody have any luck reparing a damaged Seca fairing? Mine was dropped at some point in it's life on it's left side. Big chunk missing on the outside and quite a few deep cracks throughout. I can still mount it up to the bike but i'm worried it's going to be vibrated to pieces (on that note can these be rubber mounted?)

Any idea what the process to fix this would be? Or anybody know a reputable shop that could do the work?
Or if anybody has a nicer replacement for sale... :)

Wow that's a lot of damage. I like the look of the bike with out the fairing.

There are plastic welder kits available but there is a simpler fix. I swear by Gorilla glue 2 part epoxy. I've glued up pieces completely broken in 2 and it holds.
I think you could plaster it to the inside and flex the crack a few times to work it in. Its impressive.

I repaired mine with bondo auto body filler. It has held up for 20 years

FWIW, the cowl on the Seca is fiberglass, not plastic.

Funny enough, I have a fairing for my XJ550R SECA sitting in a box. I haven't looked at in a couple of years since purchasing it. And yes, now that you point it out, I'm sure it must be fiberglass. In which case, why not buy a can of fiberglass repair kit from Walmart? I think it is a Bondo brand. I once used it to repair my in ground pool skimmer. Works great and sandable.

So I should be using a fiberglass repair kit?
    Maybe something like this?
Looks like there are a few different options aimed at auto or boat repair.
