For Sale 85 XJ700 Maxim for parts

So it finally happened. Got into an accident on my way to work. Some guy took a left in front of me without yielding, and I smashed right into his passenger side door. I flew over the top of his car and landed on the other side.

I'm okay (now), but he was at fault, and didn't have insurance, and I didn't have uninsured motorist coverage so...I guess I'm screwed.

Rather than just junk the bike, figured I'd list it here to see if anyone in the Seattle area could use it for parts, since I know they can be difficult to come by.

The bike was in good running condition when the accident happened. Damage is to the front fender, forks, and the frame. Rest of the bike is probably recoverable. (See before/after photos) About 41,000 miles on it.

Any questions, please feel free to ask. Make me a small offer, and its yours. Keys, paperwork, and everything. I'll even help you load it.

3..what about taking him to court? Got a police report? Since he doesn't have insurance, if he's found guilty, he'll have to pay it out of his own pocket.......or skin------ I don't think you're screwed quite yet-------unless you just roll over and play dead, letting him walk over you on it.
4. Maybe he'll think twice ( and look more times) before pulling out now------
5. he's also got a smashed up car, and he doesn't have insurance to pay for his own replacement -----DOH!!! what if he was driving someone else's car?!?! lol. Don't let him get away with this........

I have an 85 Xj700n parts bike frame and forks straight might be able to redo your bike cheap

Firstly, I'm glad you're mostly okay. Sad that you've decided to get rid of the bike. Would you be interested in selling just the carbs? My brother has an 85 Maxim XJ700N and needs only the carbs to make it run (originals are broken inside). I'm interested in your set of carbs. What will you take for them? I can arrange for shipping.

Awesome. Any news? Even if they are not all perfect, I would still be interested.

 

They are severely gummed up so full tear down is required . Jetting is for 750 motor so use you original jets and needles. $75 US plus freight will do it

Bike is long gone Sarah had to unload it quick
