I used minimal wiring diagram to a t! My bike still runs with out the battery connected. Which I know I'm not suppose to do this, positive side of terminal is broke, so I hold the solenoid to it, when I let go of it, it used to kill the bike, now it continues running. Any ideas as to what could be wrong?

bike will run off of the alternator this is normal but do not run the bike with out the battery connected.

you can get a longer battery cable or buy the metal connector that goes from battery termanial to battery cable

OK, I was curious, because before I rewired it, it would die if it disconnected. Thanks for the help

    You fixed it!

If it is wired per the minimal diagram it should be fine. Get a replacement positive cable assembly and get it properly connected before you blow the Rect/Reg by inadvertently disconnecting the battery. Start the bike and check the charging voltage for 14.5 +/-.3 at 2K RPM and up.
