82xj650 plug#2 spark but no fire

    i got my xj650 running correctly now but for some reason cylinder 2 is sparking but its not fireing and im pretty stumped, all others are firing but 2 is not

    Have the valves been adjusted? If valves are not opening at the right time that would do it. Also could be low compression due to something like bad rings, does it smoke out the exhaust at all when you start it up?

    it smokes a little bit, i never had this problem it just started to happen i should probably check the valve adjustment

    swap the spark plug into another cylinder and see if the problem follows the plug. could just be a bad spark plug.

    if you have never checked the valve clearances you should do that even if it is just a spark plug

    am doing valve check right now and everythings good ones a little tight but #2 is right where shes supposed to be ill do plug next
