I saw some pod air filters on ebay for 21 bucks, There must have been a fire on my bike the air box is all melted, and they didn't have a air filter in it anyway, I was thinking of putting the pod filters on, Would make going back togeather a lot easier, Just wondering if you have to rejet or anything,
This is for a xs750 tripple.
    Thanks In advance

I'd say DONT DO IT! unless you dont mind rejetting.

Any mods on the air intake and/or exhaust is going to need some rejetting.
(except putting a K&N filter in it)

If you are pretty handy with carbs......... well, it's your baby!

    I'd rather ride mine.

In fact, right now I have amassed all the parts (I hope) to go thru my carbs again. but I'm going to wait for the weather to cool off for now.

Remember, this is just my opinion.
    Good Luck

Well I probably have to rejet anyhow, the previous owner decided to drill out all the baffles in the muffler, And I was looking at using pods because there cheaper then a new air box, But first I'm going to rip the engine apart to see why I don't have second gear on upshifts but is fine on down shifts, I think it's a shift fork or something, But I'll figure that out before spending too much money.

Yet another thing I need to un-do on the 650. Airbox found in the box o' parts supplied by the PO has a giant crack in it, which is probably why he installed these pod air filters. No idea if the carbs are properly jetted for either case.

Fortunately, he did include a spare set of carbs along with the parts bike. With any luck, I'll be able to get familiar with disassembly, cleaning, jetting, re-assembly, and synching the carbs with this "spare" set while I'm looking for a way to repair or replace the stock air box.

Every time I look at this bike, I see stuff that needs to be un-done. :/

And, of course, this will all need to take into account the 4-2-1 exhaust that's on this thing...

Can I blame the gasoline smell that comes out of this bike on the pod filters? I would suspect a leak except that the smell goes away after a day or two and there are no obvious signs of an actual leak anywhere (wet parts, pool on ground, etc.).

Accually rejetting isn't bad, the carbs come off a lot easier with the pod filters on then the stock air box. and I like the look better, but thats just my opinion.

I have had a lot less headaches with my pods than others claim. Maybe I'm just lucky, but I made the change and don't regret it at all. Bike runs great.

Yep, I'm up there with the last two posters.

Wouldn't go back to an airbox.

O RLY? In that case, I suppose I'll just have to learn how to verify that the carbs I have are jetted properly for the filters and exhaust I have. That spare rack I have should do nicely, and it likely needs to be thoroughly cleaned anyway.

The pods are certainly easier to get at, though without the airbox things like the fuse box sort of dangle. I'm sure that can be cured, though. It's not like I don't already have plans to make a thorough examination of the wiring anyway. The !#$%* rear blinkers are missing because - I'm not kidding - "They weren't working so I took them off." WHY NOT JUST FIX THEM?!

    <sigh>
