No spark / excessive oil from crank

    85 700 maxim
    Purchased used, not running. just need carbs rebuilt, wink wink.
    No spark from coils black and blue relay was fried so ordered and waiting...
    Also when cranking there was excessive oil coming out crank vent? lost there
    Any and all advice in direction would be appreciated !

    check your oil level in sight glass on clutch cover bike on center stand do you see the air bubble?
    it is possible gas leaked into the crankcase from your carbs overfilling it .
    when cranking it it would be forced out of the vent tube to airbox.
    do you still have an air box?

    Overfilled, and probably with gas from the carbs that need work.

    Initially when I got it home had lots of gas in crankcase. drained and refilled. 2.6 quarts read other posts about using center stand ect. bike sat years so working with several problems at once

    Pull the carbs and fix the problem, or you'll just end up with more gas in the crankcase.

    Deal with one system at a time. Work methodically. Be patient.

    Found blown ignition fuse now bike running stuck float on one carb fixed that now idling smoothly
