    Hi,

I'm in the process of transitioning from pods to stock airbox. This weekend, I pulled off the carbs, replaced the engine>carb boots with used ones that were in much better condition than mine. While the carbs and boots were off I put it an airbox I bought off ebay. In the process, I broke the little nib I noted in my image below... should of removed the starter  - where does this hose go and how important is it?

Is there anything else I should be aware when going from pods > airbox? My carb was jetted and I have a 4-1 exhaust. I ordered new boots (#13 in the diagram above) and a new air filter - cleaned the whole airbox assembly and put it in. Last thing.. am I correct that the hose going from the crankcase should connect to the 90 elbow nib #19 in this diagram? What's it's purpose?

    Best,

that is a drain hose connection in case your carbs leak or you overflow oil.
it is to carry it away from motor and get fluids under the bike
if you flared out and flattened a length of metal tubing you could fit it into the hole possibly thread the outside fr a nut and washer to hold in place .
then put a tube on it lower profile inside the box as possible to prevent high build up.

or drill out a bolt and drill in side ways on the head to get low or slot the head down (hacksaw) to create a drain

Great suggestions. I'll see if I can find some adapter I can thread on to drain it. Thanks.

The airbox is made of ABS. Plumbing is made of ABS. Enlarge the hole and cement in a suitable diameter of ABS pipe, using ABS cement.
