Cold Weather Gas Consumption

    Man, does the cold weather eat the fuel! Lots of -1C to +1C (30F-34F) starts with the choke and a minute of warm up & the fuel goes away in a hurry. Last tank was 122km (73 miles) when I had to hit Reserve, by far the worst yet. Anyone else have the same experience or is this truly excessive?

    I don't usually ride if it's below freezing, so I wouldn't know for sure. 73 miles does seem like a short ride on one tank, tho. I've gone over 100 miles between fillups, and I have yet to switch to reserve. Might want to look into that.

    In my case the cold weather has stopped my highway travel, just keeping the city trips drops my MPG.
    I still get around 200 km's per tank before I fill up, and I don't push too far into the reserve fuel limit.
    Overall average for this year was 42 miles per imperial gallon, the last two fills had it at 36 miles per imperial gallon.

    Same here, I was getting around 200km per tank, but since the weather has gotten colder my mileage is going down too, about 175 ish is what i'm getting now

    I am measuring my commute in Philadelphia here in blocks and am getting about 66 miles to the tank. I miss the days when I would need to see 3rd gear and up. If it's going to get worse when the temps drop that is really going to upset me.
