i have a stiff front Bake lever when applying brakes. It brakes and releases fine I just have to really pull the lever to get it to apply. I have done a masert cylinder rebuild kit. Am I supposed to get a jet stream of fluid that comes out of a tiny hole in the bottom of the resivor when the lever is pulled? With the cap off it will spray the fluid out of the resivor. Did this befor I did a rebuild kit and was the reason for doing it since I thought fluid was. Bypassing a seal and causing this.

That doesn't sound right. I don't remember any "squirting" when I rebuilt mine. However, when I installed stainless steel lines the pull got considerably harder. I had to loosen the brake lever adjustment screw so I could get a better grip since I have somewhat shorter fingers.

I just did my master cylinder rebuild and it also squirts fluid out. I believe this is normal.

My lever is pretty stiff, haven't actually rode the bike yet as I am still working on a few other things but it may relax a little once everything breaks in.

Have you replaced your brake hoses? If not old hoses many times can cause a "stiff" lever as internally restriction of the hose. I replaced my original with braided steel from xj4ever and rebuilt calipers I have a good brake feel afterwards .
