I'm currently looking at a headlight bucket made by Daytona. It accepts a variety of Daytona gauges... I found this link that sells and ships from the UK to the states, but a friend of mine made a statement that its going to have a left hand drive lens in it. I thought he was joking but i looked it up and it seems to be a thing? any info? Really confused lately, too much on my plate i think. I sent an email to the uk shop, and we shall see what they say. I was just baffled that it was a think, ignorance is bliss!

    Heres the light in question:

heres an article i found, but its a motorcycle i would think a single h4 beam would just go straight!

Never really thought about it, but could it be possible that the beam is aimed away from traffic? Weird. Now I wanna park my bike in front of the garage door and take some measurements...

I don't know that a "left hand" lamp is a thing. I could see, however if put a car headlight onto a motorcycle.
With a single lamp a motorcycle needs more of a directed beam.
XJ4Ever has a hella Euro h4 headlight that is specifically designed for this.
That being said, this is a product for a motorcycle. I would however ask the website if they can provide information on a beam pattern for the lamp. Considering this is a UK lamp, and a retro style it may just be looks.
The image shown is from my Euro lamp. It is perfect for night driving in that it does not blind the driver in front (horizontal cut off) and gives a bit more light to the right side of the bike (perfect for a two way road).

IMG_20170714_220145_635.jpg My halogen headlamp was installed in 1986 by Yamaha dealer. The beam definitely angles right in low beam. Wouldn't be good in a left side drive nation.

I think it's simply amazing I've never thought of this before, being state side I can see this not being an issue besides being that guy blinding oncoming traffic. But during the day is it really an issue? The safety factor in my bike is low enough that I never plan to ride this bike at night, I'll jump on one of my much safer bikes for might riding.

Yet now that I know it's a thing I'm very intrigued/worried and look forward to see what the vendor says. Sadly the time zone difference makes for slow communication.

It's more that I think all bobbers with side mount taillights and minimal lighting aren't the safest. Not that I think it's not road worthy in some way, to be honest I got my new bike because I just didn't feel as safe as I could on the xj. It's more of a personal choice and opinion than actually the bike being not worthy. Hence why I'm mulling over this headlight so much.

At any rate I confirmed through daytona-global.com that their is indeed two versions with two model numbers. One is vintage classic and the other is vintage classic (lhs), so now it's just up to what the vendor says at item number isn't listed so I'm not sure how if the region it's sold with just assumed (lhs).

Yes, there are left and right handed headlights for motorcycles. Low beam with be down and to the right in the US and other "sit on the left, drive on the right" countries, while it will be down and to the right in the UK and other "sit on the right, drive on the left" countries.

Which is exactly what I've come to find, just a matter of which bucket this is. I'm just curious how much it'll make a difference as well. I mean I'm constantly blinded by people with hids anyways, is it worse than that? I'm just very intrigued by the concept now to be honest.

Perhaps you can call it your "revenge" light. When you get binded by hids, hit 'em with your targeted revenge beam!

Seriously, for the price difference I'm thinking on taking the gamble. Not sure what the worst case scenario is, without being melodramatic and thinking it's going to blind the person in on coming traffic.. I mean, I walk on sidewalks and never thing "wow that headlight really blinds me".. although it does have my baffled to say the least.

You may find it gets you pulled over fairly often.
