So after the cnycc this June I've been looking for some luggage for my 650 seca, correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the 750 seca have an optional touring package? Did the 650 have one? It's hard to find anything that looks good on the bike and doesn't have an outrageous price tag on it! What's everyone's suggestions?

I've looked high and low, but either my idea of a reasonable price is way too low or everything is way too high. It is probably the prior. It seems that anything labeled "motorcycle" is marked up.

Nelson-Rigg makes an excelent line of waterproof soft bags amd duffles that strap to the bike. If you're needing luggage for travel, that's what I recommend (and use).

There was no touring package made for the 650 models, but you can adapt something from another machine. There are a few threads about making Ducati hard luggage fit.

I must not have searched the right thing, I couldn't find anything on adapting luggage from another bike....

I'll look into those bags you mentioned!

Lmao! Yes yes I've used Google, but most of what I get is like " how to turn 50 Cal ammo cans into saddle bags" which wouldn't be bad if going for a post-apocalyptic theme I guess

I have their roll-duffle. They are soft bags, and not typically bike specific.

The 750 seca had its luggage; the 650/750 maxim had its luggage,..... with creative work you could get the 650/750 stuff to work.

I have several sets--- talk with me on the cell

I found these this week off Craigslist; Givi bags. They are absolutely perfect for what I need. They sit plenty high enough to keep from having any issues with the mufflers.

What about your rear turn signals? Don't they hit them or did you relocate your signals?

Well you do have to be reasonable, and realize that anything "made" for these bikes is either OUT OF STOCK, or used and quite hard to find.

I have a set of Krauser bags that I ordered on ebay from Germany. It was a little over $350 for the set (the Euro is still weak against the dollar), but that was for EVERYTHING, and they came off an XJ900. The only complaint is that they cover the tail light a little more than I like (the 900 tail light is longer) and I had to fashion a few extra brackets.

    See pics here: http://www.xjbikes.com/forums/showcase/1982-turbo-seca.46/

If that's too much, soft bags like K-moe suggests is probably the only answer. Either that or hold out to something nice and save up!

Bike and luggage look great. Reasonable for me is within budget. There are simply other competing priorities. However, I did find a nice set of used soft bags that fit the need.

@smeagol21b - Here are some better pics of the bags. They were still $45, but far better than what I have seen in the past. They fit perfectly.

I'll try to measure them later (at work right now - taking lunch). I would guess they are around 15" long, 10" high, and about 4" deep. They can expand at least twice the depth.

You are likely correct. However, no one at work cares if I pop on the forums as long as the work is getting done. Of course, that also means that if I need to stay late to finish a project, that is expected as well.
