    Hi XJ Owners

I got a Motad 4 into 1 for my XJ 900f after a driver ripped my old exhaust off my bike. When I was fitting the Motad the threaded fixings on the head were too short to allow the nuts on to secure the header pipes. I have round copper gaskets, were the original Yamaha exhaust port gaskets flat in section? If so that could be the answer to this. What is your opinion on this thanks?

No offence, Are you sure the old gaskets have been removed. More than one person has fallen for that - they are almost invisible! In any event, Chacal will see you right.

Thanks Adrian for your replay, yes the old gaskets are out of the ports.

The original gaskets are flat. What profile do the Motad headers have at the exhaust port end?

Hi K-moe the Motad headers open slightly wider than the header tube, like a slight trumpet shape. I think flat Yamaha gaskets would be better.
