for those of you who have been to past Central New York Carb Clinics----you may remember Omar Petralis, and his girlfriend, Linda, who both rode down a time or two......

He was involved in a very bad motorcycle accident several days ago, alongside with three others.

    Long story short:

Linda was killed by a car that crossed the line, Omar was badly injured and is in the hospital, the third fellow was injured, but I believe has been released from the hospital.

Here's a link to the article......it's all I know at this point.

Sad day, one friend hurt.....one friend gone. One of their friends ( so a 'friend', as well) hurt.

Sucks . Keep your eyes wide open out there.......

A little sympathy for the driver at fault as well. That is something that will haunt them for years. I struck a deer once, and for months I would see them everywhere, jumping out of the shadows. Can't imagine hitting humans...

I haven't had the chance to meet any of them, but my sympathies to their family and friends.

And also remember that nobody knows when it will be the last time you see someone.

Healing wishes for Omar and Linda's family and friends.

Saying a prayer for their families. It can happen in any vehicle, but it really hits home when its on a bike.

    Really sad.

I am a former minister. My first church was a small one in Wisconsin, maybe 70 members. In my 6 years there I buried 3 people killed on motorcycles. My wife has not been on my XJ with me since then (1989). She does not want to leave our children orphaned.

Everyone in this is in my prayers.

Ride safe everyone, and look out for the other driver!

Very sad. Being on a country road they were on, I would not expected something like that coming. Anywhere, I suppose. My prayers are with Linda, Omar and their families. Rest in peace Linda.

    Oh my god.

I was there just after it happened and had been held up by the crash (heading north to do some camping at the national park just north of there). This is terrible news... I just heard that the driver of the car had been charged but there was no other details. Had no idea they were part of the XJ family... Rest in peace Linda...

Yeah I've been following the updates from the xj email list thing. I didn't know him but knew of him. Horrible horrible thing but the support he has been getting has been amazing. He even pointed out that's one of his favorite things about motorcyclists is they watch out and care for each other. One rider who he never even met drove over and hung out with him for 30 minutes at the hospital. That's great.

^^^ it is the things that make us 'the same' that should always bind us together.
Our focus should always be on what makes us the same... not what makes us different.

No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main; if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as any manner of thy friends or of thine own were; any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind. And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.
