Question of the day- what is the recommended interval for repacking the wheel bearings on a '82 XJ750?
After properly tensioning the front wheel axle, I feel that it is too tight (requires too much force to turn). So, I'm thinking that after 23+ years, maybe the bearings need attention.
Any comments on this? Does your front wheel offer resistance to turning freely??
    Thanks,

Every 2 years or 10,000 miles. Most common reason for wheel drag is dirty axel and tightening the pinch bolt first. Loosen the pinch bolt and see if the wheel frees up. IF so then just tighten the pinch bolt back and check the axel nut for proper torque. If you tighten the pinch bolt first the axel nut will pull the fork leg to itself therefore binding the axel.

    Thanks Blue-
Yeah, I learned the correct sequence to torque-ing the pinch bolt - axel bolt here in the forums. I'm going to inspect the bearings soon-
