While removing my old spark plugs. My #2 cable came apart at the boot. Looks like really worn part, you can't see the hv wires. I intend to buy the connectors and new boots while keeping the coils. It seems to me is a single piece and the spark wires are not replaceable. Have someone tried that?

they make a splice you cut the wires and put new wires on the stubs.
the wire came apart or the plug cap fell off? it screws back on cut the wire back a little

you can buy replacement plug caps from our supporting vender I think he sells the splice too

Or replace coil with Honda CB 750 coils you can still buy them new from Cycle Recycle Part2 they are about 40 ea and have replacable plug wires they also sell wires and the caps. These coils mount in same location as stock . I have ran these for 2 years with no issues.

I could buy cables and splice it; it broke at the base of the boot. I will try to get the connectors and re-terminate it. If I don't feel satisfied; I will buy a coil like jetfixer suggested. Thanks!

    Max,

Save the spark plug caps because the ones for a Maxim X are hard to find. They have resistors in them as well, and usually need replacing.
You could also modify them to eliminate the resistors and then just use resistor plugs (the original plugs were non-resistor).

I think I might even have a spare set of coils and wires that have been converted. I'll send you a picture if you're interested.
