    Looks like the storage box for the accessory lock chain. It goes below the air box on the right side of the bike.

    use plenty of penetrating oil in the lock it will free up from post after a while mine was stuck too

    Umm.... It goes under the airbox, and the opening is to the LEFT side of the bike.
