    Hi guys.

I have upload some pictures with the question. What model bike is mine? It’s a 1981 XJ550 looking at the plate Seca? Maxim?

The US ,and maybe some other places, had two 550 models the sporter 'Seca' and teh cruiser 'Maxim'. In Europe though we only got the 'Seca' but with some enhancements (e.g. twin front discs, oil cooler, speedo that reads more that 15 mph 'rear-set' style foot controls swirly wheels etc) Yours looks much more like a Euro XJ550 with engine number start 4V8..

    Cheers

There may be a problem with the front brakes...

Seca is named Seca after a race track in the US. your bike is the same as a Seca is just called XJ550. in the US we refer to it as the euro model. Europe did not get issued the maxim...that is a North American model.

    you got the better bike
