Hi to all, I am a new member and have a question.

What light bulbs are correct for the turn signals on a 1983 XJ550?

    Standard 1156 bulbs work fine.
If your front's have running lights, they'll use 1157's

Thanks, no running lights, just signals. The left does not blink, it lights but no blink, from reading this forum it sounds like the circuitry is voltage/wattage sensitive. I understand it to be single fillament 27W but the choices seem endless at the auto parts store and not all the packages indicate the watts.

This bike was a freebie so you can imagine the condition (not too bad realy) I now have it running and rideable except for this one signal. I will be back with more questions I am sure.

    Thanks again.

    I'd try 1157's if the 1156 don't work. My 750 takes 1157 all around
