I am considering up grading my exhaust on my 1992 Seca II 600 to something a bit throatier and more free flowing. I have a few questions for those with exhausts and also who makes complete exhausts for these bikes?

    For those with aftermarket exhausts:
    1) How much did it actually help the performance?
    2) Did you have to rejet?
    3) What other mods do you have?
    4) What brand is your system

I have seen that D&D make exhausts and Vance and Hines make exhausts for these bikes, but the Vance and Hines is a painted header and I'd like a chrome one or stainless, otherwise it'd probobly be my pick. Any sujestsions or comments?

Cycle World did a test on the Vance and Hines SS2R exhaust. Made about 1.5 hp and 1.5 lb/ft more torque. Not really worth the trade off for cost and noise. Best bet on the Seca II is to get it to breathe better, bigger carbs and head work, maybe a bit more agressive cams. cruzerjd

You can get cams for these bikes? That's fun news! I planed on just exhaust, k and n air filter and rejetting the bike...a cam could be instore now too! I wouldn't mind the bike being louder...but I'm not sure the neighbors would agree.

My bad, no cams available, unless the FJ600 or FZR cams will work. Exhaust, filter, jet kit should make a bit more power. AS i reported, the V&H SS2R doesn't make a lot more power, but a different pipe, such as D&D or Yoshimura might make more. There are new D&D systems on eBay as well as a used Yoshimura slipon system for $50. cruzerjd
