    Hi all,
I'm new to this forum. I used to be the Parts/Service Mgr for Yamaha of Raleigh back in the mid-late 1980's. I remember un-crating many a Virago and XJ only to immediately replace the battery and clean the carbs from where they had been sitting in the warehouses for so long. But we sold a ton of them!
I've been out of motorcycles for decades, and now I've got a 1983 Midnight Maxim 750 that I'm getting ready for sale. It's got straight pipes on it now. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on either a nice looking aftermarket exhaust system for it, or how difficult (I'd imagine impossible) it would be to get an OEM setup back on it.
The rest of the bike is original and in good shape - I was just going to try and get the exhaust in better shape before I put it up for sale.
Glad I found this forum (google searching). Seems to be a lot of knowledgeable folks here. Thanks in advance for any hints on the exhaust!
    -Bill

I have a set of stock tailpipes for an 83 xj750k maxim. Not the black ones but they are in excellent shape.

Thanks for the reply - I was really trying to do a black exhaust to either go back to OEM or at least keep in the Midnight Maxim theme.
