The reserve must be around $3,500; (well that's my guess). Dave; you sure this isn't you with your secondary collection in TX? ;)

Since it's never been registered and comes with a COE, does that mean it comes with the factory warranty?

I believe that is correct. It works that way with cars anyhow (or used to). Yamaha may have an out if the seller is not, or was not, a Yamaha dealer. It would be worth it to get confirmation from a regional rep if you're interested in bidding.

It seemed vaguely familiar to me too, but I see so many different bikes... it didn't stand right out as a repeat though..... unlike some midnights have done, or some 750r's with lots of mismatched colors.....

Doesn't matter right now.....the reserve hasn't been met yet-----wouldn't surprise me if they put the reserve at $10K. BUT-- that would be a stupid thing to do, too, cuz he's gonna haven't pony up for some hefty auction fees, regardless......

so it seems like someone either:

    1. Put a crazy high reserve just to see if it would sell for a stupid high price
    2. Has some shill-bidding setup going on
3.has a bidder who's gonna bid stupid high then fail to follow through

    We shall see

This bike has been on eBay. I remember the seller. I think you are right in that he is looking for someone with more money than sense.

Like I said, I think he is looking for someone with a lot of money. Probably doesn’t care if he sells it or not.

So it looks like $6500 wasn't enough for this owner. It just went back on the market as a "buy it now ". $8,500. Wow is all I can say

Saw that. Something's fishy. if I were trying to sell something pricey, and it didn't make the reserve the first time, I sure would not raise the price $2000 over what the highest bid had been!!!

He might sell it. The market on such things is up. He's just trying to get exposure.

I just noticed that it's a buy-it-now only, not even able to bid. The make-an-offer button is there....I might just make an offer of $1 measly dollar just to be that guy. Maybe we ALL should......lol

I think he was stupid to list as salvage, that’s a lot different than never titled. He has the certificate of origin (I think that’s what it’s called) so should be non issue to title. Can’t blame him for trying for big money but yeah I wouldn’t pay that much for it.

I think he noted in the auction that eBay has no way of listing a vehicle as an untitled, MSO documented item, and that's why he chose "Salvage" from the choices that eBay provides...........

Perhaps/probably. But if you carefully read thru the LEGAL issues presented, you'll realize that he had backed them (DMV, etc.) into a corner, using their own laws, rules, legal definitions against them (quite the trick, I think, since they are used to doing the same against us). Like many such "laws", they aren't really "laws" at all, they are (in many cases) illegal proclamations made by un-elected, un-accountable king-wanna-be bureaucrats whose greatest talent in life is sucking at the public (taxpayer) teat, and then beating the taxpayer in return to substantiate their overpaid lifestyles.

That's why he could never get concise LEGAL answers from them, as opposed to threats, attempts at intimidations, etc. If you have to give up your property rights (MSO, or "title") to the state in return for the privilege of being able to exercise your constitutional rights (rights to movement, travel upon the public roadways, etc.), then you in fact don't really have those rights in the first place (and that tears the entire curtain of freedom, legally-speaking, down). That's his point, the whole vehicle title/registration/etc. issue was just a way of exposing that subject.

I also get the sneaking suspicion that someone at the Missouri DMW really rubbed him the wrong way, and with his legal (and other) training, he decided to take revenge in this manner. But that doesn't mean it isn't true. I had two different attorney's (one professionally, one just as a friend) look at his article to tell me where he is in error, and neither could. That's not to say that he would "win" in such an action, as the government has a lot more money to throw at such an issue than any mere mortal would, but still.....

Yup... and I did read the whole thing.

It's along the same line as the thought process of those who follow the " I don't need to have a drivers license... I can drive wherever I feel like it, and they have no right to stop me" thought process.
