You don't need a special tool. You need a couple extension and the correct spark plug socket (used upside down) which I don't remember the size. Pretty sure a 3/8's will do it.

If you have access to air tools ?
It will come apart without special tool.
Leave fork springs installed and an air gun will spin out the bottom bolt 99/100 times. Remove dust seal and clip and it's that easy

Chacal sells the tool. I'd let you borrow mine but I'm on the east coast.

Otherwise, I second the air tool. Smaller 90 Ft-lb 1/2 or 3/8 inch drive will spin it right out, just make sure to go the right direction. I've been able to do the XJ forks without it, but I've done several other brand motorcycles since that it's been the best way.

To tighten, I've used the air tool too, but I set it on it's lowest setting and then check if it'll spin with the torque wrench. Up the setting, and check again. When tight enough the torque wrench will click and it won't spin. That's gotten me through a bunch of forks.

Thanks folks. I don’t have access to air tools, so I will fabricate a tool myself. Thanks for the help!
