go with custom wheels. Any inserts are going to add weight and you will have to rebalance the wheels so you dont get any wheel hop at higher speed. And even front end shimmy. Tank slapping never turns out good and hurts.

I had the idea to do diamond plating inside the wheels, but decided against it because of all the cutting and balancing issues. I may try re plexiglas inserts instead. It would be much easier to cut and balance them, before installing them. >PD<

DAYUM! I thought I was gonna get lucky! Are there any other bikes out there that have wheels that would work on ours?

You can get the same effect without inserts.

Have your little daughter bring you down to the drug store and point-out the Glitter and Metallic Nail Polish section.

Grab a bunch ... because it takes 6 or 8 Bottles to do a wheel.

Forget working out of the bottles.
Pour your color into a yogurt cup and use an artist brush.

Just have a Super Clean surface and the wheel laying level on the Bench.
    Lay-inn the Color.
Dry it with a Hair Dryer.
    Apply a Nail-hardener clear-coat.
    Dry that; too.

to sexy for my Ya-ma-ha bike"

    No way.

I used A Purple Glitter to do the Badge on the front of my Bike and the inlay around the seat railing.

When it DRYS. Drys completely. You can take Buff it with compound and make it look like glass.

So you use a metallic nail polish or glitter, or both? I'm going to take a shot at it after the paint is done... I wont be sure which color to use untill I get the bike back together. Cheap-custom-wheels.. You da man Ric! Too bad you arent in Va, I could use your expertise with my maxim.

I call BS on Rick. He'd never do anything to his bike that isnt clearly outlined in the service manual. :D
