Shameless, yet charitable plug...

Hey guys!

So a couple years back, I got into the entrepreneurial spirit and started trying to design all the things with the mindset that I was going to reinvigorate everything and market the hell out of it. Then I got into my local autocross club and put all my energy into that instead, then I became a father, and long story short my focus is everywhere else now.

But, during that mindset, I worked on a design that I pitched to SnoSheriff to rebrand the forums. He was hesitant to dive in headfirst with me, and that was enough for me to put it on a back burner and forget about it. Then last week I got accepted as an Amazon tshirt merchant. So I decided to upload the design I worked on to have it printed on a shirt.

I still very much want this site to succeed and to pay it back for everything I've learned from it, so I'm planning on donating $5 from every shirt back to XJBikes.com. I was going to wait until I heard back from Sno to get his blessing, but damnit I'm excited and want to show this off! If he doesn't like it, I'll just take it down.

That would be getting into copyright issues if it were used on a product.

 

Yeah, Amazon would reject that big time. I did a Leeroy Jenkins shirt of my own original design, and just the concept was close enough to a trademark that they said no.

 

gotta respect the copyright or you could lose your shirt

Well, since this is a new account, I can only choose 5 colors of shirts. Once I'm past 50 sales, I get more options unlocked. I can change the colors I chose to start, but I'd have to delete the shirt entirely and start a new one and wait for it to go through design review with Amazon, and then it would be a totally different link... yeah, sucks, but I think once my account goes up a few tiers I'll be able to change more without starting over.

 

Received my XJBikes shirt by @BaldWonder via Amazon.

Fits pretty good and comfy to boot. Will be wearing it to ‘work’ tomorrow.
