Hi guys new to the forum,

After searching online and around the place I finally found a bike that I'm happy with. It had a few things on the checklist...
    - running well
    - straight (ish)
    - registered

I bought her up from Tasmania across the water, and got it courierd here to my place in Melbourne. The xj rocked up all safely and I even gave it a quick spin around the block. Started at the first push of the button.

Few things I will be doing to it while it's still warm here in aus
-registering it into my state so I can ride it
-handlebars (bought a pair of custom bend superbike bars, although they are quite close to the biltwell trackers but a lower bend)
    - handlebar end mirrors (got some in satin aluminum black)
    - new all in one/maybe 2 smaller gauges to clean up the front
    - new head light bracket to pull the front light in and to mount the new mini LED indicators i have already bought
-after rego changing back to the Mach mufflers (need to be stock stupid I know)
    - heat wrap exhaust
    - bits and bobs of metal painting work here and there...

Once it's winter I will be changing the rear seat and light set up to something more modern and sleek whilst redoing the wiring and re locating the battery etc.

Enough talk here are some photos with the ape hangers and a photo with the new bars sat just on top to get a feel for how they will look (just an FYI they will sit lower once clamped in)

    HUGE (kind of) Update:

So after a lengthy holiday over Christmas and getting back into the swing of things I thought I'd spend a few days getting on top of some of the things I have wanted to get done.
    So far to date
    - new bars
    - new mirrors
    - new brake master cylinder
    - new SS braided brake lines
    - wheel bearings and head stem bearings all replaced
    - fully rebuilt calipers including SS pistons, all seals etc
    - seat pan made and Fibre glassed (no I did NOT chop the frame as I had an idea on how to utilize the existing frame whilst still being able to make a nice looking seat)

    Next on list is -

    - new tyres and painted wheels (going Shiko 230 tour master 130/90/r18 and 110/90/r19)
    - changing over the speedometer cluster to 2x smaller gauges (have them ready to go)
    - new 7" black headlight (have it ready to go)
    - heat wrap for exhaust (have it ready to go)
    - new mufflers, probably norton style
    - new tail light and indicators front and back
    - trimming down the front fender 1" from front and back just to neat it all up
    - getting new seat pan foamed and upholstered
    - progressive springs up front and full shock and spring progressive replacement at the back
    - also will be keen ontop of servicing

Have figured once I get it looking how I want I will then Strip down everything and rebuild motor, sandblast and powder coat frame, new wiring etc etc... it's nice being able to ride it while the weather is warm here in aus!

Will keep updating as I go! :)
