Wanted 82 XJ750 Headlight Bucket

Hi all,

I am looking for a headlight bucket for an 82 Yamaha maxim (square headlight). I have been unable to find one, much to my surprise. Have these become unobtanium? I only need the bucket, but I'll buy the bulb, etc. if necessary.

Found only one on eBay. Looking at the recently “sold” list there, it looks like they do come across there regularly.

Yeah, it's a one year part as far as I know. I was hoping to stay stock, but I might just go ahead and go with an aftermarket one if I can't find original for a reasonable price.

 

there is one for sale on ebay but is in the UK total cost was about 50$ with shipping.
maybe @chacal has one.

got a link because the 750 maxim was a 2 year bike 82 and 83. 82 had atari package ans rectangle headlight ,83 was round headlight and round speedo and tach

 

Thanks for keeping an eye out @wgul and all. I saw that one for $40 and was watching it. I want going to get a broken one for $40, but I'll do 20. Sold!

And it is listed as 81 despite being an 82.

 

Yeah I almost bought an 83 with the round one. When I first saw it I thought someone had replaced the headlight with an XJ650 one !

 

Yeah, I generally prefer the round look, but I'm keeping this one mostly stock for now.

I did end up finding one. The guy had it listed as an 81 headlight assembly, so i initially missed it. Thanks for looking!
