Well crap. This sucks. Rounded off. Wont move with vice grips. Any thoughts? 20180314_170708.jpg

That bolt is toast. Perhaps grinding some flats on it and lightly tapping on it while turning with vicegrips. Worked for me, careful not to damage cases.

Already got a replacement bolt. Was hoping to not use the dremel but looking like it might be the only way

Grind the head off, then slowly grind though the flange (looks like a washer, but it's not) until the housing can pop free.

Another good reason to go for the spin on filter conversion.

Maybe. Filters can get stuck in place too, and I have had to cut one off before (it had been in place for about 40 years)

Weld a nut to the end of the bolt. Work it back and forth til it can be removed. I'd save grinding as a last resort

Probably the best method if you have a welder.

Its off!! And everything us back together. Took a bit with the dremel and a grinder. I did nick the housing but i think the oring on tge bolt is what seals it. Is that correct?
