Parting out 83 XJ750 - Now with pictures & accepting offers

As noted here, I recently acquired an xj750 at a good price.

Now I'm looking to replace the 750 with a bonneville.

After coming to the terms with the fact that I really don't need another money pit, I'm gonna try to make a little green. I'm gaging interest in parting it out or selling it as a whole.

If you want the thing, it's yours. I have put about $100 bucks into it, I cleaned synced the carbs, changed the oil / filter, and got the thing running good. It ran great up and down the block. Anything that needs to be replaced, is cosmetic.

If you want any parts ( cheap! ) let me know. Anything I don't sell here, I'm gonna try and get rid of on ebay.

I have a clean title, so that goes with the frame.

Excellent parts:
Carbs - minus the carb drain screws, these are in great shape. Better even than the set I got on my 650. Like I said it's got all new stainless hardware on em.
Seat - No tears, very good shape.
Tank - Emblems are in good shape.
Starter - Starts great.
Good parts:
Sissy bar / backrest - one of the brackets on the back needs to be repaired.
Motor - It seems very strong and sounds great, of course there is the chip off the corner. Shipping is tough, so local only probably.

Now, as a fellow XJ'er I'll get you the part you need for cheap, but I'm also trying to make some money for this new bike. That is, you all know how much I have into this, but I also know how much some of these things fetch on ebay, so make me an offer, but don't slap me in the face

You should just wish it to the North Pole and let Santa's Little Elves fix it up extra nice and then tell Santa to give it to RickCoMatic because this year he wasn't bad like all those other times when he was just getting the big lumps of coal.

Hey, if you want it, I'll sell the thing as a whole at a little over cost. Probably a little hard to get it all the way over to Mass though.

If I have to part it out, I'm gonna try and make a little.

Ok, so many of you have made offers on parts, so I really want to get some pictures taken of all of the parts before I accept any of those offers.

I'm gonna go out and start stripping the bike down tonight, clean each part, and take some pictures.

I'm also not charging extra for handling so whatever any carrier quotes you on shipping from Nebraska ( 68102 ) covers the shipping cost.

I will ship USPS, UPS and FedEx.

I don't see it on the list but do you have the mufflers available?

 

I still have a few things to take off the bike yet, the mufflers being one of them, however they are spoken for already.

 

I currently have no offers yet on the carbs.

I'd really rather not sell them on e-bay if I don't have to...

Body - Alternator Cover, Kickstand, Left Footrest, Left Footrest Shifter Mount, Left Passenger Footrest Mount, Passenger Footrests, Rear Fender, Rear Fenderwell, Right Footrest, Right Footrest Shifter Mount, Right Passenger Footrest Mount
Controls - Clutch Arm and Return Spring, Clutch Cable Mounting Bracket, Rear Brake Lever Assembly, Shifter Assembly
Electrical - Alternator Stator, Battery, Flasher Cancel Unit, Horns, Side Stand Relay
Engine - Exhaust, Front Motor Mount Hardware
Fuel System - Airbox
Misc - Battery Strap

Please keep in mind, if you make an offer, I'll pretty much accept it. I do not intend on keeping anything past this Friday ( I.E. It's goin to the dump )

I currently have 1 offer on the carbs, 1 offer on the seat, and 2 offers on the tank. If you want any of these items, please shoot me an offer.

Is the collector plate for the exhaust spoken for yet?
I believe it is the same for the 81 seca 750. None of your pics are visible to me so I can't see if it''l work for me.

I have had a few other people interested in the exhaust as a whole. I'm offering them first shot at it. If I they don't want it still, I'll let you know.

Also, My hosting company had an outage this morning, so the pics were down. They are back up now.

Anyone know if the oil filter cover is the same as on a seca 650??

If so I'd like to have it - plan on trying my hand in milling it down to round. 5 - 10 bucks?

Won't be needing the oil cover now - Sorry if you sent me the shipping quote but I didn't get it - so I ordered another unit off e-bay.
