kawi tank on xj550??

    my buddy has a zrx1100 tank he said I can have since my bike doesnt have one, will it work since its a 2000? my bike is a 1981 550, gonna make it a cafe racer anyway

    also wondering if a tank that new would need anything put inside it like i think they have something electric under the tank for the fuel gauge?

    little black box is a fuel guage you could just put a blanking plate over the hole

    No substitute for offering it up and trying. There's steering stops to consider as well and handlebars if your 'racer' will have clip-ons..

    steering stops? like where the steering locks out naturally? and yea I was thinking clipons at some point

    tank has a petcock mount hole on the other side bottom (leftside) any petcock that fits the holes will work
    when you turn the handle bars full left or right you will see where the lower triple tree hits the frame at the goose neck upper triple and handle bars can hit the tank so make the mounts so it has clearance or reshape the tank
