Wanted Right Side Battery Cover for 82 XJ750

As the title states I'm looking for a right side battery cover for a 1982 xj750. Must be whole and in good condition.

I think most of us r looking for a perfect one. I have several sets now and have yet to get one without a broken tab

 

Is there a way to fix the broken tab?

 

I suppose that’s open for interpretation but I am attempting a fix yes.
I’ve got a cpl sets where a P.O. used a nut and bolt and a bushing. Still a touch small and vibrates but hasn’t fell off. I think that is a fair idea and I’m working off that concept
If what I’m doing works I’ll post up a pic when it’s done.

 

I have unbroken side covers on my 750J. A few 3d printers in my area offer 3d scanning. If the file format is semi universal between printers it could be a nice backup option.

 

3d printing of side covers was discussed here about a year ago. ok if you make one for your self but if you start selling them Yamaha may knock on your door asking for their cut. Yamaha would sell you a license to make them, but would want to deal in high quanities.

 

That was my basic plan. Get the cover 3d scanned and then when it breaks I can just walk in with the file and have another printed.

 

I just started investigating this after getting a 3d printer in our office. I'd need a bigger print bed, all the cheaper printers have small print beds.

 

I have a few sets of side covers Left and Right . What color are you looking for . i have Red Black and grey sets . Maybe you have a Kerker header for my Seca 750 ? Or know someone that does ?

Does that red right cover have the tabs?

 

They all have tabs . I really want a kerker exhaust for my seca. Not sure i want to just sell them considering how rare they are but i would trade in a second for a kerker

 

Ahh you may find someone that wants all of them, but most of us just need one. A Kerker for the one I need would be a bit pricey

 

depends on how badly you want them. get all 3 and sell 2 if it is all of them it would take a while but you could recoup your money.

Not to hijack the Original posters request, but would you be willing to part with a left and right red set? I have searched for the last year for a right side cover and have not even found a broken one, that includes looking online and every bike parts place in my state......quite annoying. Would love to get one and make a couple 3D printed replica of them, or at the very least a good fiberglass copy.

Dont make me take a pic of all my seca tail sections in all colors or all the bakini sport fairings in all colors lol Did i mention i have a pristine seat for every day of the week , and some rough ones toolmao

 

I buy carbs sets so i can find bikes for them , makes sense to buy right side covers then find a bike that needs a side cover slap in a fresh set of carbs and see if it fires up

 

That sounds fun. I have a few extra carb banks . Maybe i should find another seca lol

 

every part deserves a bike to ride on
