Hi guys I just took my XJ750 Seca on it’s maiden voyage I was doing 50 in 5th gear and the revs were showing about 3500-4000 revs. Would be the normal ish kinda rev range for these bikes. Also seems not a lot of torque in the lower end but I’m use to riding a 1200 Sportster which feels totally different. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

When I first started riding mine I noticed "35-50" to let myself know I was in 5th gear... In other words 35oo rpm=50mph

Nothing much exciting happens under 6k with these motors - give it some beans and hang on.

just to add, the "power band" is from 6-9000 rpm. It's high, and rather narrow, and is a feature of higher revving inline 4s.

These engines (if properly maintained and tuned) can run at 6-7000 rpm on the highway all day long, you aren't stressing the engine like you would be a car engine or a longer stroke, under-square v-twin motorcycle engine like a harley.
