Brake Disc (rotor choices) Xj900N 1985 aussie

When I searched the forum couldn't find much about rotor replacments for my "9". Plenty for other XJ though

The orginal rotors were not cross drilled and on my bike even though I bought OE pads, after the factory fitted set I was going through many pads. I got to know the people at highway brake and clutch in campbellfield in Melbourne so well that I was getting a set re-materialed about every four months. One of my only complaints about the bike in the whole time I had it. I took the bike back to stafford yamaha where I bought it new a few times under warranty and got nowhere.

SO now (after my xj900 being stolen about 10 years ago) I have finaly purchased another. I will put up posts, pics and further details as I go through the nut and bolt restoration.

from elsewhere in the forum minimum rotor thickness is 7mm (front)and in Victoria all the RWC testers are like lightning on the rotor thickness

SO the list of options so far:

• OE NEW 31A2583151 about $400AU ea

• EBC rotor MD2069 These are 267mm and direct replacements
  
• You will need three of these (of course) and the prices so far look nasty.
  
• EBC are located in UK. $200 ea

• S3 Part Number: DBFSRZ284
• they look a bit over the top $89ea

If anyone has some other thoughts on good replacement rotors please let me know

You could get your OE rotors skimmed but as I expected mine are already on the minimum wear measures.

So some new ones for me
