    Hello all.

My 81 xj750A Japanese import has the daft cable/hydraulic combo.

I've been trying to see if there is a direct replacement to do a full hydraulic conversion with stainless lines and I've just gotten myself confused.

Am I correct in thinking later model XJ's (Seca for my American friends) have a full hydraulic system?

If so can I just swap them over? I'm assuming I'd have to change the switch gear too? Does the fact that my particular model used and xj650 frame change anything? Will the anti-dive cause issues?

Just to add to the hassle I'm in the UK so ordering from the USA isn't really an option.

If it helps there is a local (to me) company that makes stainless lines to order.

    I appreciate all feedback,
    Thank you,
    Andy.

Even Xj750r (seca) used the cable to master cylinder over here. You can swap it all over just make sure that m/c is correct for dual disc.
You should be able to use xj650r stuff or xj900rk

You might have a problem with your rh switch, mine had been removed, I ended up uing a 600 and rewiring the plugs.

We have a "conversion kit" available to replace the cable-op m/c with a traditional handlebar mounted unit.....including a custom-fit brake line (from the m/c to the distribution log below the headlight). You can modify your original control switch (hack off the handle bracket, as it gets in the way when you try to mount a m/c next to is) or, we have a modified "other-model" Yamaha control switch that is ready-to-go, and includes a "fog light" on/off switch. This control switch looks "Yamaha-ish" (because it is) but won't match the appearance on your stock LH control switch.

And we ship worldwide! Including to the UK....... :)

Thank you all for the replies,

I would rather change the switch gear to suit, cutting a perfectly operational part would be a shame.

Charcoal, it's more the import tax and customs charges I'm worried about. I'd have to pay 20% plus the fee of the courier.
That makes an expensive part, very expensive.

I couldn't actually find the conversion kit with switch gear though.

Yes, that is true, no easy way around that...........

Not in the catalog yet, we're still working on securing a set of install instructions for it (although, it is pretty intuitive to install), but all the component pieces are finished and available.
