I finally got my 83 Maxim unburied in the garage and on the road for its first ride of the season. Unfortunately, when I was riding I noticed my horn button was missing and was nowhere to be found. My bike has the small, round variety.

Do they sell replacements just for this button and is it safe to assume that if they do, it is a simple matter to swap in the new one without having to break and reglue anything? I've seen used controls for sale but they all appear to be in a lot worse condition then the one I have now (minus this button).

    Thanks!

When you have that switch housing apart for horn button replacement I recommend cleaning and putting some dielectric grease on the connections in there. Also make sure that the grounds are nice and clean.

Is the horn assembly 3 separate parts - button, spring, and metal contact "cog"?

    Thx!
