I've personally had great luck with local lock smiths for getting keys cut if you are looking for that. Most car shops don't have the right blanks and I've found motorcycle shops just want too much money, I'd rather pay 4 bucks to support a local business then 14 to dealer.... unless you didn't mean spares for keys you already had, in which case ignore my thoughts

Good to know @Surefire, my next move was to figure out where to get it cut.

My local Yamaha dealer ordered some blanks for me recently.

When I bought my bike it didn't have any keys period. I called a local locksmith and he was able to cut me one from the code on the bottom of the ignition lock cylinder. He even cleaned and lubed the cylinder for me. Come to think of it, I probably should have a spare made...

If you have the code as chitwood said some places can just cut you a factory key from just the code, otherwise they will just cut it against the key you bring them. My local locksmith had the ignition key in stock and ordered me the seat key blank and cut them both for me the next day.

As a related side note keep whatever key you got with the bike and DONT use it as your primary key. Everytime you cut a key using an old key as a template it's not quite the same, so if you cut a new key from a previously cut key it'll be even further off. Keep the origionals all sparkly and daily the cut key so when you loose it you still have a good origional! Last time I got keys cut for my 80's truck my guy cut the key 3 times to An de couldn't get it to work cause I didn't have the origional, brought back the origional and it cut a new key perfect the first time.
