Crankcase breather filter

    While looking up info on pod filters and carbs I noticed a pix of someones bike that had a crankcase air filter on their xj650.

    Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. I hate just hanging that hose where my air box used to be.

    It looked like a minature pod filter stuck on the engines case and matched up with the carb filters.

    Well, k&n makes a pod filter that will fit the crank case but you'll probably have to order it. I think the last time I looked it was around $10-$12 online. If you happen to have a good local bike shop that has a decent parts selection for dirt bikes, you may find one on a shelf there. It's on my list of things to do also.

    I found one at Auto Zone. I think it was $9 or $10? I am at work, so I can't load up a pic, but it basically looks just like a smaller version of the pod filters. I just wedged it onto the little "pipe" off the crank case and snugged up the clamp. Neat, clean and serves the purpose.

    Let me know if you NEED a pic, I'll post one up later.
