I was going to paint my 82 Seca 750 this winter. I was thinking of painting it that burnt orange copper color you see on a lot of new cars these days. Just wondering if anyone has seen a Seca or a similar bike in that color? I would love to see a pic if anyone has one. I know there is a copper Maxim in the gallery.

What do you think? Would a Seca look good in the color?

Take a ride over to a BMW Car Dealership and have them show you an example of -- Technoviolet.

    or,

Head for a place that sells Caddiliac and check-out -- Stealth Gunmetal Gray

If you want that bike to turn heads and look so fine you'll have all the eyes lookin' at your ride wishing they were you:

Chevy (GM) - 1966-7 Special Edition Corvette and GTO's

    "Royal Plum Mist Metallic"

Also a contender: Ford -- Titanium Green Metallic

I like all of Rick's suggestions... If you can afford it and have a person who can paint well try to throw some pearl into one of those colors and make it pop.

    Right NOW ...

Right freakin' NOW ... is the best time to get your bike painted.

The trick is to do all the PREP and bring to a Body Shop ... Parts that are READY to Paint.

Do an "Under-the-table" Deal for CASH and somebody is going to be very happy to stay a couple hours after closing to blow-on some paint for you.

    Christmas Bonus for two.

It takes some smooth talking and you have to be bold ... but, if you walk-in with an envelope full of small bills and a few 20's, here and there, somebody is going to eyeball your cash-stash and offer to blow-on some color with that casr going from the envelope ... out the door ... in his pocket after your parts are sprayed with color.

    1. The parts need to be ready for the spray booth.
    2. You need to bring along a can of the color to get blown-on.
    3. You need to sell him the idea of the Bonus and how ready you are with the cash and paint in hand.

I know this works because I've done it a couple times myself.

BIG PLUS ... if you go in and have your parts sprayed with a color that they are already working with ... something "Already in-the-gun" ... just show them the dough and tell them you need 'em painted and you got a few hundred dollard for whatever sexy color they have worked with this week.

Merry Christmas from the Paint Department

Luckily we have a old family friend that does body work and paint. I have helped him out with many projects in the past. So getting the parts painted should not be a problem. I'll go check out those bmw and cadilac colors too. I just thought the Copper would be different.

Does anybody know the quality of those reproduction emblems? I thought the gold emblems would be nice with the copper background of the paint.

Some of those repro badges look as good or better than new ones!

You have picked my color for the Seca I want to do. A nice copper with black trim and copper headers. Yep, copper headers from these guys:

I would copper trim the spiral wheels and black the final drive hub. Copper on the valve cover with black trim. Mini stalk turn signals and a brown leather seat. Oh yea.... one of these days!

That is a cool color. I think it would look pretty clean on my 82 SECA. I could photoshop that color onto my bike. I tried using MS paint and it came out kind of cheesy. I'll try and attach it.

Wow nice pics, I really like the color of the first one. That is the color I was trying for. I wonder if there is someone on here that is a wiz at photoshop and could paste that color onto a seca pic. I think it would look sick on a Seca.

Very Slick, I think it gives the bike a more modern look. Thanks, you did a great job. I think that is the color.

Definitely not a Seca, but a guy I see on the ferry just got this bike. The color reminded me of this thread, and I found an online picture. It really doesn't do it justice with the red accents, but I thought the theme would go well with the Seca. Maybe you could find a better picture, or a bike like this near you. It's a105th anniversary Harley. I thought the paint was cool.
