Warning About eBay Replacement Tank Badges

    Not sure if anyone has posted about this, but just a heads up. The aftermarket replacement tank badges from eBay are not as flexible as the original badges. Therefore, they don't stick to the curves of the Maxim tanks (well, my XJ750 tank at least). The ones like these:

    They did ship super fast though. Six days from China to Canada.

    I don't think the finish would hold up to a heat gun. It came off with masking tape.

    Possible, but I chipped the paint while pulling the old ones off, so not an option for me lol.

    Gold Bare metal foil works good , you can find it at most hobby shops.

    IIRC the originals were made pre-curved to fit the tank.

    Thanks! I will give that a try!

    The ones on the tank were straight, but extremely flexible, almost like a rubber polymer. There was no problem sticking those back on to the tank.
