I just found this site and wanted to say hello. I've had my 1985 XJ700 Maxim for about three years and thoroughly love it. I've been riding since I was five (over 30 yrs ago) and had taken about a ten year break. I expect I'll eventually get something newer, but this bike will be mine forever. I can't say enough good about it.

I have been able to get a new paint job and add some new turn signals to the rear of the bike, and the previous owner put some different mufflers on it, but other than that it's all original. I know the turn signals don't have the 'authentic' look, but they are brighter than the original ones and I like the look.

I hope to enjoy this site in the future, take care 'XJ'ers.

    Gary

Thansk for all the kind remarks. The rear blinkers are from JC Whitney, (part #ZX015215Y at jcwhitney.com) and I have the front on order so they will all match.

The highway bar was made by my father back in the 70's and I was lucky it fit. It may not look all that sleek but it has sentimental value for me. I also want to fix the seat, I made a patch for the tear but it still looks bad.
