Hello all, I'm new to a lot of things; this forum and fixing motorcycles. I recently was given a 1981 XJ650 Maxim for the low price of $100. Just needs a few things to get her going. So far I've replaced the starting system, clutch lever and some odds and ends. Now my issue is the little spring that attaches to the shifter looks pretty darn warn from some abuse, but I don't know what that is called therefore I don't know how to order it haha. Any help would be greatly appreciated in figuring this out .Thanks!

Welcome to the forum , on the upper right top of home page is xj4ever , start an IM message with chacal (Len) he has all the parts and they are CORRECT no guess work , his catalog is extensive takes awhile to figure it out , but once you do is easy. He will answer you quick and shipping is fast too. After 5 posts you can post pictures so it might help if other members could see just what you need. Cheers

We have them in stock! All 4 of them..........and, the shaft torsion spring (#6) should really be replaced with the upgraded spring-and-collar set that was used on '82-up XJ650 models, much more reliable of a system.

Wow, thank you all for your help! I had no idea I'd get this much result. I will be ordering parts here in the next few days (when I know I have some time to work on the bike- I'm an immediate gratification type).
