Greetings one and all! I just picked her up Friday. Engine turns over and she has good compression plus all the electrical works. I've been working on this one for over five months!! The dude originally wanted a grand for it back in July to which I offered $250.00, he balked. In the months since he sold the house and moved leaving this little gem behind. The new owner kept telling him to come, but he wouldn't do it. Finally, the new owner said 'come and get it'. I figure for less than a grand, it shoud be a pretty nice 1100.

    New XJ1100

Total cost; zero dollars. Endless hours of fun in the garage, PRICELESS!!

That should haul the mail when it's ready! My buddy has an 1100 Midnight Specail and she can go head to head with most modern sport bikes.

Well, I've already pulled the carbs, disassembled and cleaned them, just waiting on kits, pods, and jets. I'm in the process now of getting the brakes in working order. I’ve ran into a problem with the rear master cylinder, have a request over in ‘Sell, Trade, Swap, Wanted’ to see if anyone has one.

    Michael,
Maybe it might be the pictures, but the forks look bent back below the tripple trees like the bike hit a wall or something.

    Look into that.

Wichita! Ha, I used to live in Manhattan, and I lived in Dodge City for awhile too. Welcome to the forum!
My friend Jerry has an XJ1100 like yours. I told him about the forum, but he hasn't joined yet. He may be lurking for all I know.
Did the guy leave you a title along with the bike? Hope so, talk about a sweet deal! What year model?

    jdpesz,

I spent a year at Kansa State so I know Manhattan very well. Sorry to hear you had to do time in Dodge though! :D

The bike is an 82 XJ1100J with just shy of 17k showing. Long story short, I've already contacted the original owner who is still the registered owner so a title shouldn't be an issue.
