Today I checked the valve clearances. As I was turning the engine via the 19 mm drive I could hear something that sound almost like a gurgling and whoosh noise, it only appeared to happen when valves were being actuated but I'm not for sure as I don't remember that far back. I didn't pay much attention to the noise when I was checking them but now that I've had time to think I'm wondering about it. Has anyone else expierneced a noise like that when checking valves?

If you had any of the spark plugs in, it is compression building and releasing, when I do valves I pull all 4 plugs , makes it easier to turn engine over.

gurgling would be the oil pumping through the motor and out the cams

not true! It's fairies. little, itty bitty Japanese oil fairies. That's why you pull the spark plug -- it allows them to escape safely through the opening. Otherwise, you're squishing the poor little things with each turn.

ok. Maybe I should start the weekend now.
