Have you tried to jump it? If not, use a car battery (car not runnung). Sounds like a weak battery or loose battery cable.

Recharged battery. Still get clicking sound from solenoid. Looks like it could be the starter. No reading on the volt meter. Getting it checked out on Monday.
Thanks for your help guys appreciate it

Did you short across the two large solenoid terminals, see if the starter spins???

I would at least try to jump it with a car battery.

Do you get one single click when you press the start button, or multiple clicks?
Multiple clicks is indictive of low voltage, or a faulty solenoid.

+1. A quick test to do, but it's also reliant on the battery condition being adequate.

are you testing for voltage at starter post or output side of solinoid?

Also make sure that the meter leads, or the meter itself, isn't the cause for the 0 v reading.

Thanks for the info. Found the problem the starter was full of dust and crap and brushes are almost wore out. Waiting for brushes to come in and also had the core shined up just like new.
    Thanks
    Roger
