    Hi all
I recently bought a new project 1990 900 seca, starting to do alittle work on it, in between other bikes, most of the bike seems o.k and apart from the fact that the carbs/ airbox are missing, paintwork is a bit tatty. obviously I need to get the engine running, so I can assess if any work is needing done. the question is can I fit a set of carbs of something else, say a 900 diversion, dont really want to fork out for a set and then probably spend the same again re-jetting to get the bike to run right.

    I'm a little confused by "1990 Seca 900".
The Seca moniker was dropped after 83 for the 900's.
So I assume you have an XJ900F.
In this case the carbs from the Diversion will not work. They have downdraft carbs.

It's also a bit confusing since the Diversion 900 wasn't sold in the U.S. (I'm assuming that the OP is in Kelso, Washington).

Well I went to your profile Mr. Mills, and found that you linked Kelso, AU as your location.
I wonder if the forum software has a bug that isn't providing the location as a link in posts.

just checked info on profile , told me I was where I should be, Kelso , scottish borders, sorry about any confusion but the bike is a 900f, actually thought they were called seca, but am wrong , yet again.
Actually live about 7 miles from Kelso, if you look at a map of kelso area find the middle of nowhere and I am right in the middle.
Any way thanks Simmy for the information about the divvy carbs
just wondering if my internet problems are causing your server to think I am not where I am, checked speed a few days ago after the engineer had been out to fix it again and got 0.018meg download on broadband
