Parts question

    Hey guys.
    Sorry I dropped off the map for a little while. I hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving and nobody got trampled shopping friday (I was home in bed like a sane person)

    I'm back to working on my XJ this week and I'm looking a some parts on ebay (a starter motor and ignition coils)
    The seller says they're for an 80-81 Maxim. Will they fit my 82?
    Just thought I'd ask you guys.

    Pretty sure they all will fit just fine. I just put an 82 engine in and reused my 81 parts in the 82 engine, starter motor and ignition coils. Everything worked fine.

    p.s. for my own knowledge...what years am I going to find are pretty safe to choose from for parts for my 82 maxim? Just wondering.

    1980 - 1984, generally speaking. Just don't forget that there was a 650 Seca as well.
