    Did the original stock version come from the manufacturer with a clear or amber lense for the driving/fog lamp? I'm trying to restore to factory original and I have seen both? Interested to hear feedback from your vast knowledge. Thanks.

    I've only seen clear. I bought an '82 new, and it had a clear lens.

    In Canada all the new ones we sold including my new 81,came with yellow. 82 and later had clear lens.

    Amber lens in '81, clear lens therafter. AFIK that was done worldwide, except France may have gotten the amber fog lamp for the whole run ( I have no proof of that though).

    The yellow ones were outlawed in the North America (if I recall correctly) and all '82-83 came with the clear lense.

    All UK came with yellow (fog light...since I beleive that is what it was intended to be, originally, more than just a simple 'driving lamp....all 'fog lights in UK were yellow, France USED to have a compulsory need for all yellow lights at the front....at least in the 80's/90's)
