Perusing the forum here, I just discovered they started adding synthetic stuff to GTX! Dirty rascals! Of course I find out after I soaked my brand new clutch plates in the stuff.

I’m assuming Rotella still safe? Maybe some Valvoline 15w40 Dino oil?

EDIT: O'Reilly's up the street apparently has non-synthetic Lucas Oil. I might try that

Synthetic oil is fine so long as it meets the current JASO specs for wet clutches.

Ah.. ok. I thought it wasn't so good. I already went and got some "Twin Power" 10w-40 from a nearby Harley shop.

I use nothing but synthetic in all four bikes. Never had a problem.

Im currently using Ipone synthetic 10w40 with the JASO rating for clutches, it improved clutch performance almost immediatly over GTX i previously used which is car oil, not for clutches. (I was learned on here ;) )
I still need a clutch, cause its pretty much baked, but it was way smoother and grippier at the same time.
